Why I joined Sigmaschool
I felt like it was finally time to step out of my comfort zone and finally do something I've always wanted to do. Sigma School just felt like the right place to start my journey!
Honestly, I want to succeed in tech because I want to build a stable and independent future for myself. I also love the idea of constantly learning, challenging myself, and creating things that can have a real impact.
🛣️ The road
What I was doing before Sigmaschool
I was (and still am) studying Accounting while working part-time as a tutor, and for a long time I wasn’t completely sure what I wanted my future to look like. Getting into tech gave me a chance to challenge myself and discover a side of myself that I really enjoy! I want to succeed in tech because I want to prove to myself that I’m capable of starting something new, learning from scratch, and building a future that I’m genuinely proud of.
What success looks like 3–6 months from now
In the next 3–6 months, success would look like becoming confident enough with coding to build projects on my own without relying on tutorials. I also want to have a few projects under my belt that I’m proud of, and understand the fundamentals of software engineering. Most importantly, I want to look back and feel proud that I had the courage to start something completely new and stick with it!
My goal after I graduate
Get a remote job with an overseas company
⚙️ How I work
Hours per week I can realistically commit
40h
🎲 One interesting fact about me
I have 8 siblings and I am the eldest!
😬 What I'm most nervous or uncertain about
🧭 What I'd want a mentor's help with most
💬 On Sigmaschool
“I chose Sigma School because of its practical, hands-on approach. I wanted to learn by actually building things, while developing skills that I can eventually use to create my own projects independently.”
